Building and Floor Security

OSD is located in a state government building on a secure floor.

We recommend that all visitors carry some form of government issued identification, like a state identification card, driver’s license, or passport.

To enter the McCormack building, visitors must pass through a metal detector and have their belongings pass through an x-ray machine. Visitors are subject to secondary searches using hand-held metal detectors.

To enter OSD’s offices, visitors must sign in at the OSD Reception Area in Room 1017. The receptionist will alert the OSD staff member expecting you.

OSD strongly recommends scheduling appointments with specific staff since visitors cannot be allowed onto the floor without an escort.

Public Parking

Parking is available through the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority at the Boston Common Garage at rates generally lower than facilities located in adjacent buildings or lots.

Public Transportation

OSD is convenient to both Commuter Rail lines at North and South Stations, and subways lines at Bowdoin Street Station (Blue Line) and Park Street Station (Red and Green Lines) as well as State Street Station (Orange Line).
