December 8, 2011—New England’s Best Benefits Practices of 2011, a daylong conference featuring the most innovative benefits programs in the region, was held December 8 in Waltham, Mass. Six employers, including the Group Insurance Commission, were presented with a New England Employee Benefits Council (NEEBC) Best Practices Award.
The Group Insurance Commission won the award for its state employee health insurance re-enrollment and limited network plan premium-holiday drive that will save employees an average of $1,400 for family coverage and the Commonwealth over $20 million. Cindy McGrath, the GIC’s Communications Director, provided an overview of this program.
The other award winners included Ocean Spray, City Year, Eastern Bank, Staples and Vicor.
NEEBC, Waltham, Mass., is a nonprofit with 1,400 members, including employers and providers of benefits consulting and services throughout New England.
