For all applicants and current employees, in order to increase the security of your personal information, and in accordance with best practices, the Civil Service Unit will be moving away from the use of Social Security Numbers as personal identifiers. This feature of MaCS will lead to a greater sense of privacy, and will result in significantly less situations where individuals will need to provide sensitive personal information. Instead, in MaCS, when you create an account, you will be assigned a unique Person ID number.
In order to create an account, you must perform the following steps:
1. Go to www.governmentjobs.com;
2. Click “Career Seekers”;
3. Click “create an account”;
4. Submit your information as directed, and you’re ready to start using MaCS!
PLEASE NOTE: You will not have access to any examination applications, scores, standings, employment records, or personal information until our data migration is complete and MaCS is live. An announcement will be made on www.mass.gov/hrd/macs when the system is live. If you create an account prior to such announcement, you will not be able to view any of the information associated with your account until after the migration is complete and MaCS is live.
Please continue to check www.mass.gov/hrd/macs for frequent informational updates.
