Having just reached the ten-year mark with the Commonwealth, I am thrilled to have this opportunity to expand my skills in the areas of negotiation, dispute resolution and economic analysis of policy choices. I am already an attorney and an experienced division director but to have the opportunity to take additional courses in complex deal making and problem solving enables me to contribute at a higher level upon my return. It will be exciting to use these methods and analytical techniques to the day-to-day challenges of Massachusetts state government.
The Bradford Fellowship is an unparalleled opportunity to work with an amazing group of public officials from around the country and around the world. The interaction with your fellow students is an education in itself, but that is only the beginning. The professors, staff, and resources at Harvard and the Kennedy School allow you to learn at a depth beyond what you may be used to. Here, you don't just read about what public officials are doing, or how a problem was solved- the people involved come to your class and give you a perspective available nowhere else. You work hard here, but what you take away will enhance your experience for the rest of your career. I would urge anyone with a commitment to excellence in public service to consider this wonderful opportunity.
