DTA D-SNAP Key Contributors
Department of Transitional Assistance

In response to the devastating tornados that struck Massachusetts on June 1st, the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) participated in Disaster Recovery Operations, and received federal authority to issue Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) benefits.  There efforts, which provided critical services to more than 20,000 households in the region, would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of the DTA employees.  The efforts of this group in providing critical food support to more than 20,000 households had a tremendous impact on people who had lost so much as a result of the tornados.  The staff showed incredible compassion and worked long and hard to provide support to the victims.  The collaboration between staff and the leadership provided also helped to provide the entire agency with a wonderful sense of teamwork and reinforced the mission of DTA.
