Re: Telecommuting Policy

Effective August 1, 2000, the Commonwealth will implement a statewide telecommuting policy covering all Executive branch employees. A copy of the policy is attached. This telecommuting policy is being introduced as a component of Governor Cellucci and Lt. Governor Swift's initiative to provide enhanced Family Friendly benefits and policies for Commonwealth employees. The policy authorizes Appointing Authorities to establish telecommuting programs for their agencies, and provides guidance to assist in that endeavor.

The attached policy is being implemented as a master policy, and the execution of any agency-specific policy developed in accordance with this master policy may only occur after appropriate labor-management discussions. Also attached for your information is a telecommuting Question and Answer guide and a sample Individual Telecommuter Agreement.
