This job aid describes the procedures used by Job Approvers when approving, or disapproving CEO Job Postings submitted to them by Job Posters. Job Approvers include both Secretariat Approvers and Central Office Approvers. The following topics are covered in this job aid:

Policy: Under the Shared Services Model Hiring Guidelines Secretariats are delegated to review CEO management postings (M1 - M4) while HRD Analysts will continue to review management postings (M5 - M12).

CENTRAL OFFICE/SECRETARIAT APPROVAL

Approving a Submitted Job Posting

As a Job Approver, when a Job Poster in your agency creates and submits a Job Posting for review, you will receive an email notification. In order to approve the posting, follow the steps listed below.

1.

Log in to the CEO application at https://jobs.hrd.state.ma.us/recruit-admin/login.do

Click on Tasks and My Tasks link. A list of jobs pending your approval will appear.

Click on Posting ID number of posting you want to review.

4.

If needed, click on Edit Job to edit any fields of the posting (otherwise skip to step 7).

If needed, edit any fields of the posting.

6.

Click on Approve Job to approve the job and send it to the next level of review or to be published.

7.

If no edits are needed (from step 4), select Approve Job, to approve the posting and send it to the next level of review or to be published.

Disapproving a Submitted Job Posting

As a Job Approver, when a Job Poster in your agency creates and submits a Job Posting for review, you will receive an email notification. In order to disapprove the posting, follow the steps listed below.

Log in to the CEO application at https://jobs.hrd.state.ma.us/recruit-admin/login.do

2.

Click on Tasks and My Tasks link. A list of jobs pending your approval will appear.

Click on Posting ID number of posting you want to review.

4.

Select Disapprove Job, to send the posting back to the job poster (for editing or to make posting inactive).

5.

Enter reason that posting is being returned to the job poster.

6.

Click on Submit to return posting to the job poster (or select cancel to return to the posting).
