DCAMM was selected as one of this year’s Leading by Example (LBE) award winners. 

The Leading by Example Awards recognize Commonwealth agencies and authorities, public colleges and universities, and municipalities, as well as public sector staff or volunteers, for outstanding efforts in implementing policies and programs that result in significant and measurable environmental and energy benefits.

The awards recognize the significant environmental work being implemented throughout the Commonwealth at many public sector entities. Awardees demonstrate that they have made significant progress in implementing initiatives in areas that may include: greenhouse gas emissions reductions, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green building/ sustainability design and construction, waste reduction and recycling, toxics use reduction, and other environmental areas. 

The Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM)’s Energy Team received a State Agency Award for its work on a broad portfolio of initiatives, including the Accelerated Energy Program that is targeting energy efficiency measures at 700 state sites, and the design of several zero net energy buildings that are projected to generate as much clean energy on site as they consume over a year.
