MAFMA Fall Semi Annual Meeting and Graduation Recap
MAFMA held its Fall Semi Annual Meeting and MAFMA University 3rd Commencement on September 11, 2012 at the new Fire Services Academy in Stow. Administration and Finance Secretary Jay Gonzalez and DCAMM Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, Robert Cahill, greeted, spoke to the attendees and congratulated the “graduates.” Forty-nine MAFMA members received "diplomas" acknowledging their completion of a series of courses designed to teach best practices on a number of facility operation and maintenance issues.
Secretary Gonzalez expressed appreciation for and support of the goals of MAFMA and encouraged its members to keep up the good work maintaining the Commonwealth's buildings and facilities. Graduating members, Matthew Armington from the Department of Youth Services and Frank Morande from Middlesex Community College gave their reflections on the value of the MAFMA University classes.
After conferring “diplomas,” Secretary Gonzales and the MAFMA members attended a 9/11 memorial service in the training yard.
Deputy Commissioner Cahill had the pleasure of presenting our MAFMA Facility Manager of the Year Award to Margaret Bacon, Deputy Director of the Division of Resource Management, Department of Corrections.
