The Springfield Doing Business with DCAMM (DBWD) outreach event held on Wednesday, November 16th at UMASS Springfield marks the third successful session in the DBWD six event series. “Doing Business with DCAMM” events provide contractors and other prospective vendors an overview of DCAMM processes and a summary of the various divisions within the agency, including public construction and maintenance, how they can become eligible to bid and work on public construction projects, and DCAMM’s procurement of good and services. 

Special guests included David Cullinane, Diversity/Community Outreach Manager for Consigli Construction and David Fontaine Jr., Vice President of Fontaine Brothers Construction. Both companies, being long standing DCAMM Certified Prime Contractors were able to give attendees insight on how to most effectively do business with DCAMM from a contractor’s perspective. They also invited attendees to discuss potential opportunities within their respective firms. Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), a SBA-funded in-person counseling service for small businesses also attended the event. PTAC helps small business owners determine if they are properly prepared to pursue government contracting and helps put firms in a position to succeed in this area. 

John Fitzpatrick, Director Massachusetts Supplier Diversity Programs and Lori Maggiacomo, Project Manager of the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) joined us and assisted attendees with information on how to apply for SDO designated certifications. 

DCAMM was represented by Contractor Certification Deputy Director Taisha Crayton; Small Projects Director Jack Keleher; Design and Construction Director Bob Barry; Deputy Director of Compliance Charles Kelsey; Energy and Sustainability Group Deputy Director Tony Ransom; Compliance Manager Rob Huke; Workforce Reporting Manager Samilys Rodriguez and Certification’s Public Information Officer Suzzette Waters.
