Gerald A. McDonough has extensive public and private sector experience. Gerry served as General Counsel for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development for four years, and, prior to that, from 1999 to 2003, he was General Counsel and Deputy Treasurer to State Treasurer Shannon P. O’Brien.
Gerry’s private sector experience includes being a founding partner at Holtz & Reed, LLP, where he concentrated on administrative law, business litigation and employment disputes, and he was formerly associated with Todd & Weld, LLP and Foley Hoag, LLP.
McDonough is the author of the annual supplement to Alexander J. Cella’s Massachusetts Administrative Law and Practice treatise, the most cited work of its kind on administrative law in Massachusetts.
A graduate of Boston College and the University of Massachusetts, McDonough received his juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Suffolk University Law Review.
