    State Auditor Suzanne Bump intends to review public subsidies for Evergreen Solar, the energy company that recently announced plans to shutter its Devens plant and move more 800 jobs elsewhere despite receiving millions of dollars in public funds, as part of a broader review of the state’s entire system of tax incentives.

  • Brockton Enterprise: Whitman native Suzanne Bump sworn in as state auditor at Cardinal Spellman

    It was a high school football coach who first told Suzanne M. Bump she should consider a law career. Bump, now 54, remembered the words of Pete Ambrose, who coached and taught a business law class at Cardinal Spellman High School, when she returned to her alma mater Wednesday to officially become the state’s first female auditor.

  • Auditor cites significant hazards of 100 municipally-owned dams

    January 11, 2011

    The State Auditor’s Division of Local Mandates (DLM) reported today that 100 dams owned by 62 localities are rated in unsafe or poor condition and have the potential to cause loss of life or significant property damage in the event of dam failure.
