Achieving the highest standards of government auditing requires a deliberate and constant organizational commitment to accountability, professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness, and transparency – the ethical principles which underlie GAGAS, the Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards promulgated by the U.S. Government Accountability Office.
