PUBLIC NOTICE OF MASSACHUSETTS BAR EXAM RESULTS
 
July 2009 Exam


 

Official Result Notification

 

 

OFFICIAL RESULT NOTIFICATION: Official result letters are mailed to each applicant.  Please open these letters immediately as they contain one of the following pieces of time-sensitive, important information:

1.

If you passed both the written and character portions of the bar exam, an R.S.V.P. form for the admission ceremony is included in with your result letter.

NB: You may not attend the swearing in ceremony unless you submit a timely response to the Court.


2.

If you passed the written portion of the bar exam only, you will receive a letter indicating one of the following:

 ·     The Board requires that you appear before them and you will receive notice of the scheduled character interview

 ·     The Board requires additional information and you will receive a notice detailing the requested information that must be submitted to the Board before it can take any further action on your petition for admission
 

3.

If you were unsuccessful, time-sensitive instructions for retaking the exam and obtaining your essay answers are included in with your result letter.

 
Results from the July 2009 exam were mailed to applicants on October 27, 2009. During November, the names of those who passed the written portions of the bar examination will be publicly posted in every county clerk's office pursuant to Supreme Judicial Court Rule 3:01, Section 4.

 







Statistics

 



A total of 2,158 applicants sat for the July 2009 bar examination, of whom 1,849 (85.7%) passed.  There were 1,949 first time takers, of whom 1,762 (90.4%) passed the exam.  The statistics are as follows:
