PUBLIC NOTICE OF MASSACHUSETTS BAR EXAM RESULTS
  July 2011 Exam

 

Official Result Notification

 

 

OFFICIAL RESULT NOTIFICATION: Official result letters are mailed to each applicant.  Please open these letters immediately as they contain one of the following pieces of time-sensitive, important information:

1.

If you passed both the written and character portions of the bar exam, an R.S.V.P. form for the admission ceremony is included in with your result letter.

NB: You may not attend the swearing in ceremony unless you submit a timely response to the Court.


2.

If you passed the written portion of the bar exam only, you will receive a letter indicating one of the following:

 ·     The Board requires that you appear before them and you will receive notice of the scheduled character interview

 ·     The Board requires additional information and you will receive a notice detailing the requested information that must be submitted to the Board before it can take any further action on your petition for admission
 

3.

If you were unsuccessful, time-sensitive instructions for retaking the exam and obtaining your essay answers are included with your result letter.

 
Results from the July 2011 exam were mailed to applicants on October 25, 2011.  The names of those who  passed the written portions of the bar examination will be publicly posted in every county clerk's office pursuant to Supreme Judicial Court Rule 3:01, Section 4.

A total of 2136 applicants sat for the July 2011 bar examination, of whom 1794  (84.0%) passed the exam.  There were 1958 first time takers, of whom 1728 (88.3%) passed the exam.  The statistics are as follows:

The applicants listed below have passed the written portion of the July 2011  bar examination (under Rule 3:01), which is one part of the necessary qualifications for admission to the Massachusetts Bar.  If no objection is made, they may be recommended to the Supreme Judicial Court for admission:
