The Juvenile Justice Unit, consisting of an Assistant District Attorney and a Victim Assistance Advocate, handles prosecution of crimes committed by persons under the age of 17. The unit hosts Juvenile Justice Roundtables in north, central, and south county, which bring together school administrators, police officers, prosecutors, youth services and social services to share information for the benefit of court-involved and at-risk youth. The unit also holds semi-annual county-wide forums which provide educational updates and serve as an important networking opportunity for those who work in the juvenile justice field.
