Brown sent to prison on mayhem charge

A Ballston Spa, New York woman pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court in connection with a stabbing.  35 year old JEANETTE R. BROWN appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

BROWN pleaded guilty to one (1) count of MAYHEM.  Judge Agostini ordered that she         serve a 5 to 7 year sentence at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction.    

BROWN stabbed a 22 year old woman, in Pittsfield, on June 7, 2011.

One (1) count of ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO KILL and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
