Carnevale sent to jail on drug charges

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges.  53 year old RICHARD B. CARNEVALE SR. appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

CARNEVALE pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF OXYCONTIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: DISTRIBUTION OF OXYCONTIN.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve 1 year of a 2 year sentence to the Berkshire County House of Correction.  CARNEVALE was also placed on 1 year probation. 

CARNEVALE possessed oxycontin with the intent to sell on March 3, 2010 and conspired with others to sell oxycontin between December 23, 2009 and March 5, 2010.   

The investigation was conducted by members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force, including state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Pittsfield, Adams, North Adams, Dalton, Lee, Lenox, Williamstown, Lanesborough, Great Barrington and Stockbridge Police Departments, federal investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
