Dupont arraigned on sexual assault charges

A Great Barrington man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on sexual assault charges.  18 year old ANDREW DUPONT (214 North Plain Road) appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

DUPONT had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on two (2) counts of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD: NO FORCE.  Judge Ford released him on personal recognizance on the condition DUPONT have no contact with the alleged victim, observe a 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, reside with his father and remain drug and alcohol free during the pendency of this case.   

The incident is alleged to have occurred in Great Barrington on December 27, 2011 and involved a 15 year old girl. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Great Barrington Police Department.
