Grenon pleads guilty, sent to state prison

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to sexual assault and child pornography charges.  54 year old RAYMOND GRENON appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

GRENON pleaded guilty to one (1) count of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD, one (1) count of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A CHILD UNDER 14, four (4) counts of POSING A CHILD IN A SEXUAL ACT, four (4) counts of DISSEMINATION OF MATERIALS OF A CHILD ENGAGED IN A SEXUAL ACT and eight (8) counts of KNOWINGLY POSSESSING VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 16 to 18 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charges of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD, POSING A CHILD IN A SEXUAL ACT and DISSEMINATION OF MATERIALS OF A CHILD ENGAGED IN A SEXUAL ACT.  GRENON was given concurrent state prison time on the other charges.    

The incidents occurred in Pittsfield between November 1, 2008 and October 7, 2010 and involved a girl who is 6 years of age. 

One (1) count of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD AGGRAVATED BY AN AGE DIFFERENCE was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
