Kelly pleads guilty to drug charges

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges.  33 year old DAVON J. KELLY a/k/a DEVON KELLY and NATURE appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

KELLY pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense), six (6) counts of DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE (2nd offense), two (2) counts of DRUG VIOLATION WITHIN A DRUG FREE SCHOOL ZONE, one (1) count of DRUG VIOLATION WITHIN A DRUG FREE PARK ZONE and four (4) counts of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve concurrent 3 to 4 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the drug and conspiracy counts.  KELLY was given concurrent 2 and a half to 3 year state prison sentences, to be served on and after the first sentence, on the SCHOOL ZONE charges.    

The charges stem from incidents that occurred in Pittsfield between September 24, 2010 and May 5, 2011. 

The investigations were conducted by members of the Pittsfield, North Adams, Williamstown, Adams, Dalton, Lee, Lenox, Great Barrington and Stockbridge Police Departments, state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force. 

    (Note: KELLY will serve 5 and a half to 7 years in state prison.)
