LeClair pleads guilty to a drug charge
A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges. 51 year old FRANK J. LECLAIR appeared before Judge Daniel Ford.
LECLAIR pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense) and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE. Judge Ford ordered that he serve 1 year of a 2 year sentence to the Berkshire County House of Correction on the charge of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE (2nd offense). LECLAIR was placed on 1 year probation on the CONSPIRACY charge.
LECLAIR was in possession of marijuana with the intent to sell the drug when he was arrested on March 3, 2010 and conspired with others to sell marijuana between December 22, 2009 and April 15, 2010.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force, including state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Pittsfield, Adams, North Adams, Dalton, Lee, Lenox, Williamstown, Lanesborough, Great Barrington and Stockbridge Police Departments, federal investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
