Thomas gets probation on drug charges
A Clarksburg man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges. 25 year old JAMES R. THOMAS II appeared before Judge John Agostini.
THOMAS pleaded guilty to one (1) count of DISTRIBUTION OF OXYCODONE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS. Judge Agostini placed him on 2 years probation on the condition THOMAS refrain from using drugs and undergo drug testing and counseling during the probationary period.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred in North Adams on September 3, 2010.
One (1) count of DRUG VIOLATION WITHIN A DRUG FREE SCHOOL ZONE was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.
The investigations were conducted by members of the North Adams, Williamstown and Stockbridge Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
