Watts gets probation on drug charges

A North Adams woman pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges.  22 year old ASHLEY N. WATTS appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

WATTS pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF OXYCODONE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF FENTANYL WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF ALPRAZOLAM WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF NALOXONE AND BUPRENORPHINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF DIAZEPAM WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and six (6) counts of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  Judge Agostini gave her concurrent 18 month suspended sentences at the Berkshire County House of Correction on the charge of POSSESSION OF OXYCODONE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  WATTS was placed on 2 years probation on the other charges on the condition WATTS undergo drug testing and counseling during the probationary period.   

The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at 613 Ashland Street on March 11, 2009.  

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams, Adams and Dalton Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force in conjunction with Postal Inspectors from the United States Postal Service.
