Wright sent to jail on drug charges
A Lenox man, who pleaded guilty February 22nd, was sentenced this morning in Berkshire Superior Court. 38 year old ALONZO B. WRIGHT appeared before Judge John Agostini.
WRIGHT pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF SUBOXONE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE. Judge Agostini ordered that he serve 6 months of a 2 year sentence to the Berkshire County House of Correction on the charge of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE. WRIGHT was placed on 2 years probation on the other charges on the condition he undergo drug testing during the probationary period.
WRIGHT was in possession of marijuana with the intent to sell the drug and in possession of suboxone when he was arrested on April 15, 2010 and conspired with others to sell marijuana between December 22, 2009 and April 15, 2010.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force, including state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Pittsfield, Adams, North Adams, Dalton, Lee, Lenox, Williamstown, Lanesborough, Great Barrington and Stockbridge Police Departments, federal investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
