Babbs appears in connection with a stabbing
A North Adams man was arraigned this afternoon in Northern Berkshire District Court in connection with a weekend stabbing. 25 year old MARIO R. BABBS (1 Brook Terrace) appeared before Judge Michael Ripps.
BABBS had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON. Judge Ripps ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without bail pending a dangerousness hearing Friday, June 8th.
It is alleged that BABBS stabbed a 27 year old North Adams man, in North Adams, on June 2nd. The man has been hospitalized at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield and is being treated for multiple stab wounds.
The investigation is being conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department with the assistance of state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
