Chadwell pleads guilty, sentencing June 27th

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to firearm charges.  33 year old J. C. CHADWELL a/k/a JC CHADWELL appeared before Judge Mary Lou Rup. 

CHADWELL pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN WITH A PRIOR CONVICTION FOR A VIOLENT CRIME OR DRUG OFFENSE and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD.   Judge Rup will sentence CHADWELL on Wednesday, June 27th at 9 a.m.  He is to report daily to probation, remain drug and alcohol free and undergo random testing prior to sentencing.    

The charges stem from an incident in Pittsfield on August 22, 2009. 

One (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
