Davis found not guilty in Superior Court
A Pittsfield man was found not guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. The jury deliberated for about an hour before returning its verdict against 30 year old JERRY DAVIS a/k/a JEREMIAH DAVIS.
DAVIS was found not guilty on one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER and two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON in connection with an incident on Memorial Drive in Pittsfield on June 10, 2010 that injured a 33 year old man and 50 year old women.
After the Commonwealth presented its case, Judge Daniel Ford directed that a verdict of not guilty be entered on one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER.
Prior to trial one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, two (2) counts of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON and two (2) counts of THREAT TO COMMIT A CRIME, TO WIT: MURDER were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
