Farron pleads guilty, sent to jail

A North Adams man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  29 year old FRANCIS N. FARRON appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

FARRON pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON ON A PERSON 60 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A PERSON 60 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER in connection with an incident in North Adams on August 18, 2012 involving a 60 year old man. 

Judge Agostini ordered that FARRON serve an 18 month sentence at the Berkshire County House of Correction on the charge of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A PERSON 60 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER.  He was placed on 2 years probation on the other charge on the condition FARRON have no contact with the victim during the probationary period.     

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department.
