Garrett found guilty, sentenced to state prison

A Pittsfield man was found guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  The jury deliberated for about 7 hours over a two day period before returning its verdict against 28 year old RAHEEM B. GARRETT. 

GARRETT was found guilty on three (3) counts of ARMED ROBBERY WHILE MASKED.  Judge John Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 10 to 15 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction.    

The jury returned not guilty verdicts on two (2) counts of ARMED ROBBERY WHILE MASKED, two (2) counts of ARMED ASSAULT WIT INTENT TO ROB, two (2) counts of ASSAULT BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of ATTEMPT TO COMMIT A CRIME, TO WIT: ARMED ROBBERY WHILE MASKED. 

GARRETT was found to have committed three armed robberies in Pittsfield that occurred between September 1, 2011 and November 22, 2011.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
