Gomes found guilty, sentencing Monday

A Pittsfield man was found guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  The Jury deliberated for about 3 and a half hours before returning its verdict against 26 year old JEREMY D. GOMES. 

GOMES was found guilty on one (1) count of MAYHEM, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of BREAKING AND ENTERING A MOTOR VEHICLE IN THE NIGHTTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY.  Judge John Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction pending sentencing which will occur Monday, September 17th at 9 a.m.    

The incident occurred in Pittsfield on September 10, 2011 and involved a 19 year old man. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
