Hall, Veiovis and Chalue appear in Court

A North Adams man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on murder and other charges.  45 year old DAVID CHALUE appeared before Judge Mary Lou Rup.

CHALUE entered not guilty pleas on three (3) counts of MURDER, three (3) counts of KIDNAPPING and three (3) counts of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON.  Judge Rup ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail.

Two other men were arraigned last week.  36 year old ADAM LEE HALL a/k/a LEO MAZOLI, of Peru, and 32 year old CAIUS VEIOVIS a/k/a ROY GUTFINSKI, of Pittsfield, appeared before Judge Rup.

HALL entered not guilty pleas on three (3) counts of MURDER, three (3) counts of KIDNAPPING and four (4) counts of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON.  Judge Rup ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail.

VEIOVIS entered not guilty pleas on three (3) counts of MURDER, three (3) counts of KIDNAPPING and three (3) counts of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON.  Judge Rup ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail.

The new indictments result from a continuing investigation by the Grand Jury, and will replace the indictments issued in October 2011.

The Grand Jury did return one new indictment against ADAM LEE HALL.  He entered a not guilty plea on one (1) count of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON.

It is alleged that HALL, VEIOVIS and CHALUE kidnapped and then killed 44 year old David Glasser, 58 year old Edward Frampton and 47 year old Robert Chadwell.  The three Pittsfield men were last seen at a Pittsfield apartment shared by Glasser and Frampton on August 28, 2011.

The investigation is being conducted by the Berkshire Detective Unit assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Pittsfield Police Department.  They are being assisted by the FBI, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
