Jones pleads guilty, sentenced to jail

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges.  25 year old GERARD JONES a/k/a SUPRANO and PRANO appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

JONES pleaded guilty to one (1) count of DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve a 2 and a half year sentence at the Berkshire County House of Correction on the DISTRIBUTION charge.  JONES was given a 2 and a half year house of correction sentence, to be served on and after the first sentence, on the charge of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.    

JONES sold cocaine and conspired with others to sell cocaine, in Pittsfield, on October 6, 2010. 

One (1) count of DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department. 

  (Note: JONES will have to serve 5 years in the house of correction.)
