Margraf pleads guilty, sent to prison

A Chester, Massachusetts woman pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to numerous charges.  25 year old AMBER L. MARGRAF (54 Middlefield Road) appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

MARGRAF pleaded guilty to one (1) count of BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE NIGHTTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, four (4) counts of BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, four (4) counts of LARCENY IN A BUILDING, one (1) count of MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OVER $250, one (1) count of LARCENY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, one (1) count of LARCENY OF A CREDIT CARD, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF BURGLARIOUS TOOLS, one (1) count of ATTEMPT TO COMMIT A CRIME, TO WIT: BREAKING AND ENTERING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, one (1) count of RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY OVER $250, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF PEPPER SPRAY WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD, one (1) count of RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY OVER $250,  one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A CLASS E SUBSTANCE and one (1) count of COMMON AND NOTORIOUS THIEF.  Judge Agostini ordered that she serve concurrent 2 to 4 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Framingham on all the charges except for one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A CLASS E SUBSTANCE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF PEPPER SPRAY WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD and one (1) count of COMMON AND NOTORIOUS THIEF.   Judge Agostini gave MARGRAF concurrent house of correction sentences on the drug and pepper spray charges and placed her on 3 years probation on the charge of COMMON AND NOTORIOUS THIEF.   

The charges stem from a series of house breaks in Dalton, Hinsdale, Lee and Pittsfield between January 22, 2011 and June 17, 2011 and a motor vehicle stop in Lee on March 12, 2012.   

Four (4) counts of LARCENY OVER $250 were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.  

The investigations were conducted by members of the Dalton, Lee, Pittsfield and Hinsdale Police Departments.
