Martin arraigned on drug and firearm charges

A Pittsfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on drug and firearm charges.  28 year old DANIEL MARTIN (5 Parker Street) appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

MARTIN had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A SAWED-OFF SHOTGUN, one (1) count of RESISTING ARREST, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and one (1) count of ILLEGAL OWNERSHIP OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN.  Judge Ford released him on $7,500 bail.   

The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at his home on March 7, 2012. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield and Adams Police Department, deputies from the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
