Michael King pleads guilty to drug charges

An Adams man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges.  54 year old MICHAEL J. KING appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

KING pleaded guilty to two (2) counts of DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE, four (4) counts of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, four (4) counts of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, one (1) count of UTTERING A FALSE PRESCRIPTION and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF OXYCODONE.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve 1 year of a 2 year sentence to the Berkshire County House of Correction on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  KING was placed on 2 years probation on the other charges on the condition he remain drug free and undergo drug testing during the probationary period.   

The incidents occurred between December 22, 2009 and August 15, 2011.    

The investigation was conducted by members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force, including state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Pittsfield, Adams, North Adams, Dalton, Lee, Lenox, Williamstown, Lanesborough, Great Barrington and Stockbridge Police Departments, federal investigators from the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
