Muir is arraigned on sexual assault charges

A Stockbridge man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on sexual assault charges.  37 year old SCOTT M. MUIR (33 Church Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini.        

MUIR had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on two (2) counts of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A CHILD UNDER 14 in connection with incidents that occurred between August 1, 2003 and June 30, 2004 and involved a girl who is now 17 years of age.

 MUIR also had not guilty pleas entered on two (2) counts of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A CHILD UNDER 14.  The incidents are alleged to have occurred between August 1, 2005 and June 30, 2006 and involved a girl who is now 15.

All the incidents are alleged to have occurred in Stockbridge at the Stockbridge Plain School. 

 Judge Agostini released MUIR on $10,000 cash or $100,000 surety bail on the condition he have no contact with the alleged victims or their families and not be in a caretaking role with children under 16.  

The investigation was conducted by State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
