Provencher is sentenced to jail and probation

A Hinsdale man who pleaded guilty May 17th was sentenced yesterday afternoon in Hampshire Superior Court.  37 year old AARON PROVENCHER appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

PROVENCHER pleaded guilty to three (3) counts of DISSEMINATION OF VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD IN A STATE OF NUDITY OR SEXUAL CONDUCT and twelve (12) counts of KNOWINGLY POSSESSING VISUAL MATERIAL OF A CHILD DEPICTED IN SEXUAL CONDUCT.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve 3 months of an 18 month sentence to the Berkshire County House of Correction.  PROVENCHER was also placed on 2 years probation on the condition he undergo counseling, not access of possess pornography, allow probation to search electronic devices, register as a sex offender, refrain from using drugs and alcohol and undergo drug and alcohol testing during the probationary period.                             

The incidents occurred in Hinsdale between November 10, 2009 and December 1, 2009.

The investigation was conducted by state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
