Santos arraigned on unarmed robbery charge

A Whitman, Massachusetts woman was arraigned this morning in Central Berkshire District Court in connection with a bank robbery last week in Pittsfield.  22 year old BRENDA A. SANTOS (23 Fox Hill Run) appeared before Judge Rita Koenigs.

SANTOS had a not guilty plea entered on her behalf on one (1) count of UNARMED ROBBERY in connection with the theft of money from the Elm Street branch of Greylock Federal Credit Union on March 30, 2012. 

Judge Koenigs ordered that SANTOS be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $250,000 cash or $2,500,000 surety bail.  SANTOS is scheduled to be back in Court for a bind over hearing on May 4, 2012. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department with assistance from the Boston Office of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force.
