Sitton pleads guilty, sent to prison

A Hartford, Connecticut man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on drug charges.  37 year old STEPHEN J. SITTON III appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

SITTON pleaded guilty to one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and two (2) counts of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS.  Judge Ford ordered that he serve concurrent 2 to 3 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction.

The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at 99 Howland Avenue, in Adams, on August 10, 2012. 

One (1) count of BEING PRESENT WHERE HEROIN IS KEPT was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Adams, Lanesborough, North Adams and Pittsfield Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
