Smith is arraigned on drug and gun charges

A Pittsfield woman was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  34 year old AMENA SMITH (405 Wahconah Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

SMITH had not guilty pleas entered on her behalf on one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY, one (1) count of ILLEGAL OWNERSHIP OF A FIREARM, RIFLE OR SHOTGUN, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF AMMUNITION WITHOUT A FIREARM IDENTIFICATION CARD and one (1) count of IMPROPER STORAGE OF A FIREARM.  Judge Agostini ordered that she be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $2,500 bail. 

The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at SMITH’S home on October 31, 2012

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
