Sparrow enters not guilty pleas on home invasion and other charges

A Pittsfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  22 year old ANSEL SPARROW a/k/a YAMEAN (68 Maplewood Avenue) appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

SPARROW had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of ARMED HOME INVASION, one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO ROB, two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT ARMED ROBBERY WHILE MASKED.  Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail. 

It is alleged that SPARROW assaulted and attempted to rob a 25 year old man and 21 year old woman in Pittsfield on September 10, 2012. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
