Sumlin enters not guilty pleas in Superior Court

A Bronx, New York man was arraigned this morning in Berkshire Superior Court on a drug charge.  41 year old CLIFTON L. SUMLIN a/k/a ANTHONY AMMES, CLAPP, LEROY SUMLIN, CLIFFTON SUMMER, CLIFTON SUMMERS, CLIFTON AMMES, LERDY SUMLIN and CLIFTON SUMMER (103 West 165th Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

SUMLIN had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE (2nd offense) and one (1) count of DRUG VIOLATION WITHIN A DRUG FREE SCHOOL ZONE.  Judge Agostini ordered that SUMLIN be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $100,000 cash or $1,000,000 bail. 

It is alleged that SUMLIN sold cocaine in North Adams on September 18, 2007. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
