Zebrowski arraigned on a series of arsons
A Chicopee, Massachusetts man was arraigned this morning in Central Berkshire District Court on numerous charges. 54 year old STUART P. ZEBROWSKI (449 Oldfield Road) appeared before Judge Rita Koenigs.
ZEBROWSKI had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on four (4) counts of BURNING A BUILDING, fifteen (15) counts of BURNING THE LAND OF ANOTHER, three (3) counts of BREAKING AND ENTERING A BUILDING IN THE DAYTIME WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A FELONY, two (2) counts of LARCENY FROM A BUILDING and seven (7) counts of LARCENY UNDER $250. Judge Koenigs ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail pending a dangerousness hearing on April 12, 2012.
It is alleged that ZEBROWSKI set fire to structures in New Marlborough on June 16, 2011 and October 17, 2011, in Sandisfield on January 19, 2012 and Great Barrington on March 8, 2012. It is also alleged that ZEBROWSKI broke into a home in Great Barrington on March 5, 2012 and homes in Sheffield on March 12, 2012 and April 4, 2012. He is also alleged to have set numerous brush fires in New Marlborough, Egremont, Richmond, Lee and Monterey between April 30, 2009 and April 5, 2012.
The investigation was conducted by members of the fire and police departments from Dalton, Egremont, Great Barrington, Lee, Lenox, New Marlborough, Sandisfield, Sheffield and Stockbridge, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Lee barracks, Crime Scene Services, the Air Wing and the Office of the Fire Marshal.
