Cardona pleads guilty, placed on probation

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  23 year old GABRIEL S. CARDONA a/k/a GABBY appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

CARDONA pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A DISABLED PERSON, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON.  Judge Agostini gave him an 18 month suspended jail sentence and placed CARDONA on probation for 18 months.  During the probationary period, CARDONA is to perform 96 hours of community service work, undergo mental health counseling and have no contact with the victims.     

CARDONA assaulted two men, ages 20 and 23, in Pittsfield on June 29, 2012. 

One (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A DISABLED PERSON was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.       

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
