Delratez pleads not guilty to a murder charge
A North Adams man was arraigned this morning in Northern Berkshire District Court on a murder charge. 41 year old DAVID A. DELRATEZ (512 Walker Street) appeared before Judge Michael Ripps.
DELRATEZ entered not guilty pleas on one (1) count of MURDER and one (1) count of LARCENY OF A MOTOR VEHICLE. It is alleged that DELRATEZ murdered 84 year old ELLEN DEPAOLI on September 17, 2013. The incident is alleged to have occurred in North Adams.
DELRATEZ also had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of BREAKING AND ENTERING WITH INTENT TO COMMIT A MISDEMEANOR and one (1) count of MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY UNDER $250 in connection with an incident in Clarksburg on September 13, 2013.
A not guilty plea was also entered on one (1) count of USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE WITHOUT AUTHORITY. That charge stems from an incident in Clarksburg on September 17, 2013.
Judge Ripps ordered that DELRATEZ be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without bail. DELRATEZ will be back in Northern Berkshire District Court, in North Adams, on October 25, 2013 for a bind over hearing.
The investigation is being conducted by the North Adams Police Department, State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, Officers from the Pittsfield Police Department and Deputies from the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department, members of the Berkshire County Law Enforcement Task Force.
