Faria enters not guilty pleas on kidnapping and other charges
An Adams man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. 39 year old DAVID J. FARIA (3 Allen Street) appeared before Judge Mary Lou Rup.
FARIA had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of KIDNAPPING, one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, one (1) count of ASSAULT BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, one (1) count of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON, one (1) count of CARRYING A DANGEROUS WEAPON, two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY and one (1) count of THREAT TO COMMIT A CRIME, TO WIT: MURDER. Judge Rup ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction on $20,000 cash or $200,000 surety bail.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred in Adams on May 19, 2013 and involved a 36 year old woman.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Adams Police Department.
