Gomes pleads guilty, sent to jail
An Adams woman pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to drug charges. 18 year old NITA K. GOMES appeared before Judge John Agostini.
GOMES pleaded guilty to two (2) counts of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS and one (1) count of BEING PRESENT WHERE HEROIN IS KEPT. Judge Agostini ordered that she serve concurrent 6 month sentences at the Berkshire County House of Correction.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at 99 Holland Avenue in Adams on August 10, 2012.
One (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF COCAINE WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE and one (1) count of POSSESSION OF HEROIN were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Adams, Lanesborough, North Adams and Pittsfield Police Departments and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
