Grossjung pleads guilty, placed on probation

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  25 year old MITCHELL T. GROSSJUNG appeared before Judge Daniel Ford. 

GROSSJUNG pleaded guilty to one (1) count of KEEPING A PLACE FOR REGISTERING BETS and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS, TO WIT: DISTRIBUTION OF COCAINE.  Judge Ford gave him a 1 year suspended sentence to the Berkshire County House of Correction on the CONSPIRACY charge.  GROSSJUNG was placed on 1 year probation on the charge of KEEPING A PLACE FOR REGISTERING BETS. 

GROSSJUNG, the owner of Herman Alexander’s, provided illegal poker machines to his customers on April 28, 2012.  He also conspired with others to distribute cocaine in Pittsfield between February 24, 2012 and April 3, 2012. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield, Lenox, Lanesborough, Adams, Great Barrington and Lee Police Departments, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department and state troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire County Drug Task Force.
