Jones pleads guilty armed robbery and other charges

A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges.  21 year old SOLOMON JONES III appeared before Judge John Agostini. 

JONES pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ARMED ROBBERY, three (3) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY.  Judge Agostini ordered that he serve a concurrent 3 to 4 year state prison sentence at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the ARMED ROBBERY and ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON charges.  Jones was given a concurrent 2 and a half year house of correction sentence on the charge of ASSAULT AND BATTERY.      

The charges stem from the robbery and assault of an 18 year old man in Pittsfield on May 7, 2012.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
