Jury returns split verdict in Heideman case

A North Adams man was found guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court.  The jury deliberated for about two and a half hours before returning its verdict against 31 year old KEVIN A. HEIDEMAN. 

HEIDEMAN was found guilty on one (1) count of DISTURBING THE PEACE in connection with an incident in North Adams on December 2, 2011.  Judge John Agostini ordered him to pay a $150 fine.   

The jury found HEIDEMAN not guilty on one (1) count of RAPE, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY, one (1) count of MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OVER $250 and one (1) count of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON in connection with charges stemming from the same incident.  

The investigation was conducted by members of the North Adams Police Department.
